Tea Paragraph: Nathan Ryan Emoni Jake / Between The World And Me

As a group we feel this book is going to cover what it is like to be a black man in today's society. We also feel he is going to take on the topic of white supremacy. On page seven of the book he goes into racism and defines it for us as "...the need to ascribe bone-deep features to people and then humiliate, reduce, and destroy them-..." (7). Racism alone is a huge factor in our world today that constantly seems to be causing problems, Ta-Nehisi Coates has dove in to show us his experiences in just the first few pages. This is important because we have already seen what we will be reading about throughout the entire book.
